Fireproof window refers to the window that can meet the requirements of fire resistance stability and fire resistance integrity together with the frame within a certain period of time. When lighting and ventilation are required on the exterior walls of two buildings with insufficient fire separation, or between spaces separated by firewalls, fireproof windows shall be used.  

There are two categories of fireproof windows sold in China: one is fireproof windows that not only maintain integrity within the specified time, but also have thermal insulation function; The other is the fireproof window that maintains integrity within the specified time, but does not have thermal insulation function. In terms of fire protection function, these two types of fire windows can be used for exterior wall windows. Generally, the amount of combustibles on the exterior wall is relatively small. As long as the exterior wall window can maintain integrity and not break under the action of flame or high temperature, the possibility of the external flame igniting the internal objects on the upper floor is very small. Generally, The fireproof window made of Class C fireproof glass and fireproof window frame whose light transmittance will not change with time can meet the requirements of preventing the spread of flame from outside to inside. However, in the following special cases, it is still recommended to use fireproof windows with thermal insulation function.

(1) The lower floors are shopping malls, warehouses and other places with heavy fire loads,

(2) The windows of the lower floor are floor to ceiling windows, or when the window size is large.

(3) The external wall is a breathing curtain wall structure (or a large billboard).

(4) The material and structure of the external wall insulation system do not meet the requirements of the Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings.

The performance of fireproof window depends on two parts, glass and window frame. Failure of any part will cause the fireproof window to lose its function. Therefore, the fireproof window must be verified by reliable tests. The fireproof glass used for fireproof windows mainly includes multi-layer composite fireproof glass, grouted composite fireproof glass, Class C fireproof glass (single piece fireproof glass, stainless steel wired glass), etc. Among them, multi-layer composite fireproof glass and grouted composite fireproof glass have good high-temperature heat insulation performance and are mainly used for indoor fire separation or fire doors, The disadvantage is that the light transmittance will gradually decline with time. Class C fireproof glass has good fire resistance integrity, and the light transmittance will not decline with time. Among them, the light transmittance of a single piece of fireproof glass is better than that of stainless steel wired glass. The disadvantage of these two kinds of glass is that they do not have heat insulation performance. Therefore, they are mainly used for curtain walls, exterior wall windows, fixed smoke barriers and sleeping walls. When combined with other heat insulation measures, they can also be used as indoor fire separation. When the exterior wall adopts the fireproof window made of Class C fireproof glass, it is recommended that the curtain should use washing resistant and flame retardant fabric.  

1) Fixed fireproof window: fireproof window without openable sash.

2) Movable fireproof window: fireproof window with openable sash and equipped with sash opening and closing control device.

3) Thermal insulation fireproof window (Class A): fireproof window that can meet the requirements of fire integrity and thermal insulation at the same time within the specified time.

4) Non thermal insulation fireproof window (Class C): fireproof window that can meet the fire integrity requirements within the specified time. [3] 

Edit installation requirements

1. When accepting the goods received by Party A, it shall carefully check the quantity, specification, grade and whether various accessories are qualified and complete according to the supply contract.

2. The storage and storage of fireproof windows shall be vertically stored in a dry room with anti-corrosion measures. The glass shall be placed and relied on objects that cannot damage the glass edge and glass surface.

3. Installation

(1) The fireproof window must be checked before installation. If the window frame, window sash are warped, deformed, and the glass is damaged due to careless transportation and storage, they should be repaired before installation.

(2) When installing the fireproof window, it is necessary to use a level ruler to level or use the hanging line method to correct the perpendicularity of the front, rear, left and right sides, so that the horizontal, vertical and height are the same.

(3) The window frame must be integrated with the building and connected to the wall with wood or iron pieces. After the steel window frame is installed, the cement mortar must be poured between the window frame and the wall, and it can be used normally after curing for more than 24 hours.

(4) The location of the mounting hole of the hardware fittings shall be accurate, so that the hardware fittings can be installed smoothly and firmly, and meet the use requirements.

(5) During the installation of fireproof glass, the seams on the four sides must be even. After positioning, fill the seams on the four sides with fireproof cotton, and then seal the edge sealing strip.
